Terms of Use
These terms cover this website and the TypeVoice app for macOS, offered by Priyam Ventures ("we", "us"). Use of the app itself is governed by the License Agreement.
1. The app, the trial and the purchase
The app is free to use in full for seven days after first launch. After that, continued dictation requires a single purchase; there is no subscription. The price on this site is the US price; the checkout shows your price in your local currency, including any tax, and in many countries adjusts it to local purchasing power.
Purchases are made through Dodo Payments, which sells the license to you as the merchant of record: Dodo Payments handles payment, invoices, applicable taxes and refunds under its own terms. After payment you receive a license key by email. A personal key may be activated on up to 2 Macs that you personally use; a team key on up to two Macs per seat for the number of people it was bought for. Deactivate a Mac in the app's License tab to free a seat. The app checks the key with Dodo Payments as described in the Privacy Policy.
2. Refunds
If the app doesn't earn its place, write to support within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full, no questions asked; the refund is issued by Dodo Payments to the original payment method, and the key stops working. Refunds after that are at our discretion, except where consumer law gives you more. Because the free trial lets you try everything first, please use it before buying.
3. Your content
Everything you dictate is yours. It is processed on your Mac and never reaches us. You are responsible for what you dictate, where you paste it, and for any audio files you choose to share from the app.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use the app to break the law, to record people without the consent your jurisdiction requires, or to circumvent its licensing (for example by sharing a key beyond the Macs you use). Do not reverse engineer or redistribute the app except where the law expressly allows it.
5. Accuracy
Speech recognition is very good and not perfect, and the optional cleanup can change wording. Read what was typed before you send it, especially names, numbers and anything with consequences. The app is not a substitute for professional transcription where accuracy is legally required.
6. Availability and changes
We may update, change or discontinue features. Because the app runs entirely on your Mac, an installed version keeps working as it is; a licensed app that cannot reach Dodo Payments keeps working for at least 30 days without a check, and if the license service were ever discontinued we would ship an update that removes the check. Updates are delivered by the app itself (Sparkle), from this website, and you can turn automatic checks off. The app requires macOS 26 or later on a Mac with Apple silicon.
7. Warranty and liability
The app and this site are provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be excluded.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of , without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the consumer-protection law of your country of residence applies and cannot be waived.
